About the Artist
My Creative Journey
I grew up in Colorado and have lived in Wyoming, Minnesota, Kansas, Indiana and now reside in Ohio. My passion for art began at a young age and I was always involved in art classes throughout my school years. In college, I majored in Education and Physical Therapy. While raising my child, I again felt the pull of art. I started my art again, mainly working in oil. I also dabbled with other mediums and liked graphite.
A number of years ago, I started an initial graphite drawing, but never finished it. This unfinished piece just sat, as life went on. Then in 2019, I decided to finish and give it to my son to hang in his dorm room. Pleased with the result of this work, I took my pencils out and started drawing again. I created a piece for a juried gallery exhibition in my hometown. When it was accepted into the show I thought “Let’s see where this can take me.” Ever since, I draw on nights, weekends, and any time I have a free moment.
Currently, I am working predominantly in graphite. I fell in love with the process of creating images only through the application of graphite on paper. I have exhibited my works in juried gallery shows.
